It’s scholarship season! One easy application opens the door to more than 100 scholarships through the RCC Foundation. The deadline is March 1. Apply by Feb. 15 to be entered in the drawing for a $500 Early Bird Scholarship.
The Foundation is using a new platform this year that will match you with external scholarship opportunities as well as RCC scholarships. Log in to ScholarshipUniverse with your RCC student email and password. To learn more about the new platform, join a 30-minute demo via Zoom at noon on Friday, Feb. 5(link is external) or Friday, Feb. 12(link is external).
RCC Counseling is offering several special programs this term via Zoom:
- The Happiness & Well-Being Workshop Series meets at 3 p.m. Tuesdays through March 16 to learn about actions you can take to help develop a positive mental state.
- The Beyond Positive: Body Acceptance Group will meet at 3 p.m. Mondays (2/8, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8) to help participants learn to accept their bodies and build resilience for “bad body days.”
- National Eating Disorders Awareness Week is Feb. 22-28. RCC Counselor Celeste Hettman will present two Zoom workshops to discuss eating disorders, common behaviors and recovery (2/23 & 2/24).
RCC also offers free personal counseling for all registered students.
Are you interested in a career in healthcare or human services? Deadlines to apply for some of our limited-entry programs are coming up soon:
- Allied Health information sessions are offered twice a month. Applications are due Feb. 15 to join the spring cohort Phlebotomy and Medical Assisting and the summer cohort for Dental Assisting. Applications are open for the fall cohort for Medical Administrative Assisting and Pharmacy Technician.
- The Massage Therapy program will host an info session March 1; applications open April 1 for the fall cohort.
- Applications for the Human Services program are due April 30. Info sessions will be offered 2/4, 2/22, 3/16 and 4/14.
Warm up this winter with an RCC Ospreys hat or hoodie! Ospreys Athletics has launched an online apparel store(link is external) with more than 60 styles to choose from. Four essential items are on sale through the month of February to celebrate the shop’s grand opening. RCC Athletics will receive 15% of all sales.
And, yes, the Ospreys are scheduled to play this spring! Game schedules are posted for Men’s Soccer and Women’s Volleyball. Women’s Soccer will return in the fall.
