It’s time to apply for admission to the dental assisting program at Rogue Community College. Preference for the summer 2022 cohort will be given to applications received by Feb. 28. Summer term begins July 11.
Dental assisting is a one-year certificate program that includes classroom instruction and practical training designed to prepare students for living wage jobs in this high-demand industry. This limited-entry program is offered once a year at RCC’s Table Rock Campus in White City. Prerequisite courses are required prior to acceptance into the program. The program is eligible for financial aid.
Dental assistants perform tasks such as preparing patients for treatment, passing instruments during procedures, and taking impressions and dental X-rays. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects jobs in this field to expand 11 percent between 2020 and 2030.
Attending a program information session via Zoom is a mandatory part of the application process. Information sessions are held twice a month. For details, visit roguecc.edu/dental.
