Blood Drives Open to the Public at Rogue Community College

JACKSON and JOSEPHINE COUNTIES, Ore. (Oct. 15, 2024) – Rogue Community College (RCC) is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a series of blood drives across its campuses in October, open to all members of the community. With a current blood shortage impacting hospitals nationwide, RCC is joining the effort to help replenish supplies and save lives. The following blood drives will take place:

  • Oct. 29 in Grants Pass, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the Redwood Campus, Student Center (RWC-Café/SC) at 3345 Redwood Highway.
  • Oct. 30 in White City, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Table Rock Campus, A Building, Room 184 (TRC-A 184), 7800 Pacific Ave.
  • Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the Riverside Campus, Higher Education Center, Room 129 (RVC-HEC-129A/129B), 101 S. Bartlett St.

“Blood donations are always needed to meet the constant demand for lifesaving blood products,” said Ace Ventura, account manager for the American Red Cross, Pacific Northwest Blood Services Region. “We encourage everyone in the community to come out and support these drives. A single donation can save up to three lives, and every unit of blood collected is vital to ensuring that patients receive the care they need.”

The American Red Cross is facing a national blood shortage, with someone in the U.S. needing blood every two to three seconds. Blood donations help patients facing emergencies such as childbirth complications, accidents, surgeries, cancer treatments and other serious conditions.

Donors are encouraged to schedule their appointments in advance by visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Walk-ins are also welcome.
