Upcoming professional development hosted by Open Oregon Educational Resources:
- A Not-Boring Tour of State OER Policies. Oregon’s state policies will be put in the context of the nation-wide OER State Policy Tracker. Feb. 16, 12-1 p.m.
- Winter Virtual OER Review Workshop registration is open. Attend a workshop on one of three dates: Feb. 21, 12-1 p.m.; Feb. 22, 5-6 p.m.; or Feb. 23, 12-1 p.m. After the workshop, you’ll receive a stipend for writing a review of an open educational resource.
- OER Course Redesign Training: Open Ed Week Sprint Registration Deadline. Redesign your course with OER in a one-week sprint and earn a $750 stipend! Register by Feb. 26.

- Registration is open for the Certificate in Open Education for Librarians hosted by Library Juice Academy. The next course begins on Feb. 1 and you can register up until the day the class starts.
- From Syllabi to Textbooks – Accessibility in Open Educational Resources for Institutions of Higher Education is a series of three no-cost intensives designed to build capacity in IHE teams hosted by ISKME and CAST. Apply as a team by Feb. 1.
- Tea Time! AI and Copyright, hosted by the Open Education Network Publishing Co-op Advisory Group. Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. PST.
- Mapping Your OER Journey: Charting Progress, Navigating Challenges, and Building Impact, hosted by Pressbooks. Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. PST.
- Do We Need a National Open Education Strategy? An “Open” Conversation, hosted by the National Consortium of Open Educational Resources. There are three opportunities to attend: Feb. 7, 12-1 p.m. PST; Feb. 13, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. PST; or Feb. 14 1-2 p.m. PST.
- Registration is open for the Language OER Conference, hosted by the Open Language Resource Center at the University of Kansas, taking place virtually Feb. 17.

Calls for proposals in the open education field:
- The Northeast OER Summit, taking place virtually April 4-5, is accepting proposals through Feb. 2.
- Texas Woman’s University is hosting an Open Educational Practices Conference, taking place virtually on April 4. Proposals are due Feb. 25.
- The 2024 FL OER Summit, taking place virtually May 23-24, is accepting proposals through Feb. 28.
- The Summer 2024 Open Education Publishing Institute: Collaborative Knowledge and Social Justice, hosted by The Graduate Center of the City University of New York, is accepting applications. Participation includes an award to cover travel, lodging and other costs and Oregon instructors are eligible to apply. Apply by March 1.
