Upcoming professional development hosted by Open Oregon Educational Resources
- Student-Centered Course Material Procurement Models. The current campus store model isn’t working for any stakeholder. How can we proactively get out of our campus store doom loop? Open Oregon Educational Resources and the Orbis Cascade Alliance invite you to a virtual half-day meeting to bring together OER champions, librarians, store managers, business officers, instructors, students and other relevant stakeholders in Oregon. Meeting will be on May 3, 2024, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Spring 2024 Virtual OER Review Workshops will take place May 13, 12-1 p.m.; May 14, 5-6 p.m.; and May 15, 12-1 p.m. After the workshop, you’ll receive a stipend for writing a review of an open educational resource.

Calls for proposals in the open education field:
- The 2024 Open Education Conference call for proposals is open. The submission deadline is April 15, 2024.
- The call for proposals is open for the Oregon Information Literacy Summit and open pedagogy is one of the invited topics. Proposals are due April 18, 2024.
- The Journal of Open Educational Resources in Higher Education’s call for papers is open. Submissions for the 2024 issue are due April 19, 2024.
- Clemson University seeks authors to write two open textbooks on robotics and mechatronics for the two-year associate degree levels. Contact Yang Wu by April 30, 2024 if you’re interested.
- The call for proposals is open for the Cal OER Conference, which takes place virtually August 7-8, 2024. Proposals are due June 3, 2024 at 5 p.m.
