To enhance campus safety and in light of the escalating opioid crisis, Narcan will now be available on RCC campuses. Narcan, also known as naloxone, is a medication used to reverse opioid overdose rapidly.
RCC recognizes the urgency of providing lifesaving resources within our community. Narcan is essential in our efforts to safeguard the well-being of students, faculty and staff.
It’s important to note that while training in the administration of Narcan is not mandatory, RCC encourages individuals to familiarize themselves with its usage. Training is also available through Vector Solutions. While Narcan is available to all employees for emergency use, its utilization is completely voluntary and not mandatory.
Two doses of Narcan are stored inside the AED cabinets in the following locations and are maintained by Risk Management.
RVC: HEC, Library and SSC
RWC: Buildings A, D, H, JO, O, W and X
TRC: Buildings A, B and C
