Rogue Community College is offering an easy pathway to start a career in the medical field through the Nursing Assistant (NA1) Program. This state-approved NA1 program consists of 155 hours of online and in-person training.
To help interested students learn more, a free, no-obligation orientation is being offered Wednesday, Aug. 10, 6-7:30 p.m. Financial assistance for course costs is available through WorkSource Rogue Valley and information on eligibility will be shared.
Orientation will take place in Room 140 at the RCC Health Professions Center, Table Rock Campus, 7800 Pacific Ave., White City. Attendance at the orientation is required prior to the first day of class.
The application for fall enrollment is due August 23 for classes meeting September 6 – October 19, 2022. Spring term class dates are April 18 – May 31, 2023 with applications due by April 1, 2023.
Help with program applications and WorkSource scholarship information will be available at the orientation meeting or by appointment.
In just six weeks, students who successfully complete this training program will be eligible to take the certification exam through the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Over 90% of RCC’s NA graduates have passed the state board exam to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA1), and most have received a job offer prior to graduation.
During the first three weeks, students complete 53 hours of self-paced online learning and 27 hours of skills labs at our state-of-the-art Health Professions Center at Table Rock Campus. During the final three weeks, students take part in 75 hours of hands-on, supervised clinical training at a local health care facility.
This program is offered through RCC’s Continuing Education department and does not earn college credit.
