The American Association for Women in Community Colleges – RCC Chapter (AAWCC-RCC) and the RCC President’s Office invite nominations for the Oregon Institute for Leadership Development (OILD).
This year’s OILD will take place July 14–17 at the Big K Guest Ranch in Elkton, Oregon and is coordinated by the AAWCC Oregon Chapter.
The President’s Office will nominate up to two RCC employees to participate in this four-day leadership development training. The event focuses on both personal and professional growth, connecting participants from community colleges across the state and offering training tailored to Oregon’s education environment.
Participants will engage in a variety of comprehensive leadership development activities.
Who Should Apply
You do not need to be in a management position to be nominated. Employees from all areas—classified staff, faculty and management—are encouraged to apply. RCC recognizes that leadership potential exists throughout the organization and this is a great opportunity to grow those skills.
Self-nominations are welcome. Any RCC employee (excluding student employees) may self-nominate with their supervisor’s endorsement. Nominations are due by May 8, 2025 and can be completed here.
Nominee Criteria
Nominees will be evaluated based on the following:
- Supervisor Feedback: Insight on the anticipated benefit to the employee and the college
- Education: An associate degree or higher (or equivalent)
- Experience: A minimum of three years at a community college
- Leadership Potential: An expressed interest in advancing to a leadership role in the community college system
Post-Participation Expectations
Selected participants will be expected to:
- Serve on the following year’s OILD Nomination Committee
- Present to the AAWCC-RCC membership at the annual retreat about their OILD experience or a specific impactful lesson
- With supervisor approval, deliver a similar presentation to their department or division
- Join the AAWCC-RCC Chapter
For more information or to submit a nomination, contact the President’s Office or a member of the AAWCC-RCC leadership team.
