RCC mascot Ossie Osprey is competing in the 2018 NWAC Mascot Challenge, a social media competition with a $1,000 scholarship awarded to the winning school.
Each week of the challenge, the 11 participating colleges post a photo of their campus mascot on their social media sites and rally their community to “like” the image. To vote for Ossie, “like” our posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
The competition kicked off Tuesday, Jan. 16 with the theme “New Year, New You.” Coincidentally, that same day RCC broke ground on a $4.2 million renovation/expansion project that will create a new technical training center in a vacant building adjacent to the Table Rock Campus in White City. Ossie attended the groundbreaking ceremony and our photographer caught KTVL News 10 reporter Kimberly Kolliner broadcasting live on the scene.
Look for Ossie’s new photo on Monday, Jan. 22. The week 2 theme is “Local Landmark Pride.”
After week 2, the top eight finalists advance to the next stage of the five-week competition. The winner will be announced Monday, Feb. 19.
The challenge is sponsored by The Mascot Company and the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC). RCC has men’s and women’s soccer teams that compete in the NWAC South Division.
