RCC Cancels New Spring 2025 Accelerated Nursing Cohort

Rogue Community College is committed to providing high-quality nursing education and preparing students for careers in healthcare. As part of this commitment, the Accelerated Registered Nursing (RN) Program scheduled to start this spring has been canceled due to a confluence of cascading factors.

This decision followed a careful evaluation of clinical site availability and faculty resources. RCC worked diligently with healthcare partners to identify solutions that would allow the cohort to proceed; however, maintaining two concurrent accelerated cohorts alongside the traditional nursing program proved unsustainable at this time. The primary challenge was securing sufficient clinical placements and faculty support to meet program and accreditation standards.

To support impacted students, RCC is offering the following:

  • Guaranteed Placement in the Fall 2025 Cohort: Students will have a reserved seat in the traditional RN program beginning Sept. 29, 2025.
  • Scholarships: Any scholarships that were awarded to affected students for the canceled spring start will remain valid and will be applied to Fall 2025.
  • Tuition and Fees Coverage for Fall 2025: RCC will provide an opportunity to affected students to cover tuition and program fees for Fall 2025.

In collaboration with healthcare partners, RCC is taking proactive steps to strengthen long-term clinical placement strategies, faculty recruitment and alternative training models such as virtual reality (VR) simulation. The college remains committed to expanding opportunities for future nursing students and ensuring sustainable program growth.
