Jackson and Josephine counties – The 52nd Rogue Community College (RCC) Commencement will be held at the RCC Redwood Campus in Grants Pass at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023.
RCC will confer 479 degrees and 158 certificates. Forty-five students will also receive their GED® diploma at this year’s ceremony. GED® students will walk first followed by students receiving college certificates and degrees.
The event will be held at the Lower Wiseman Parking Lot with ample space, so no tickets will be required for entry. There will be approximately 1350 chairs available for guests. With limited shade in the event area, guests are advised to dress for warm weather and to wear sunscreen.
There will be reserved parking and seating for people with disabilities as well as sign language interpreters. Early arrival is encouraged to ensure best seats for guests needing additional time.
Parking is available on campus and guides will be assisting guests. Follow the link for RCC’s Commencement map. A FREE shuttle service will also be available for graduates and guests from the Josephine County Fairgrounds to the RCC Redwood campus. The first shuttle will leave Josephine County Fairgrounds at 8:45 a.m., departing approximately every 10 minutes until the ceremony starts. Shuttles will be available throughout the ceremony, as needed and will end in the afternoon, approximately 1 p.m.
The RCC chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) will hold its annual fundraiser for scholarships at the ceremony by selling single-rose bouquets and bottled water at the AAWCC tent. Proceeds benefit RCC Foundation scholarships.
A dessert reception and faculty meet-and-greet will immediately follow the commencement and will be held adjacent to the college fountain and along the walkway between RCC’s fountain and the student center.
The ceremony will be streamed live on RCC’s YouTube channel for family and friends who cannot attend. To view the ceremonies online, visit RCC’s YouTube channel. Links to view the live event will be posted on the RCC Facebook page or on the RCC commencement website page.
New graduates will receive RCC Foundation commemorative market bags containing a selection of small gifts to mark their transition to alumni status. For those graduates unable to attend, bags may be picked up at the RCC Foundation office on Redwood Campus, building H, during regular office hours through June 30.
