As we embark on an exciting redesign of the Rogue Community College website, our primary goal is to create a student-centered experience that better serves prospective and current students. To achieve this, the Marketing & Communications Department will be working with other college departments to review web content and ensure that our public website is focused on student needs.
While our primary focus is on students, we also recognize that some content—such as employment information, board governance materials and accreditation-required disclosures—must remain public-facing to serve prospective employees, partners and other external stakeholders.
As part of this process, pages that are not student-focused or required to remain public-facing will be reviewed in collaboration with departments to determine the most appropriate internal platform, such as myRogue or the RCC Intranet. This will help us streamline RCC’s website, making it easier for students to navigate while ensuring faculty and staff have the tools they need in the right places.
Our marketing team will be reaching out to departments to discuss this transition using the following guiding questions:
- Is the primary audience students (prospective or current)?
- Is the content legally required or expected to be available publicly (e.g. board materials, employment, disclosures)?
- Would this content be more useful or appropriate in myRogue, the RCC Intranet, Sharepoint or another internal resource?
- Is this content current, accurate and essential?
If a page does not meet these criteria, we will work with you to relocate the content to an appropriate internal platform. We appreciate your collaboration and input as we make these improvements and we will ensure a smooth transition for all affected pages.
Thank you for your support in making RCC’s website a more student-friendly resource!
