Jackson and Josephine counties (August 22, 2024) — Rogue Community College (RCC) has received accreditation for its new Dental Hygiene program from the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Both the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assistant programs received notice of accreditation following a comprehensive review process, which included a lengthy application and a two-day site visit.
Dental Hygiene is a two-year associate degree program. The accreditation allows six courses from the Dental Assistant certificate program to be transferable to the new Dental Hygiene program, providing students with a seamless transition between the two disciplines.
Applications for the fall Dental Hygiene program opened Aug. 19 and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26. If all spots are not filled by this date, the application window will remain open until the program reaches full capacity. Interested students must complete all prerequisites and preparatory coursework prior to admission. Applications will be evaluated for completeness and eligibility after the initial deadline.
“We’re excited to offer this new opportunity for students in Southern Oregon,” said Carmen Mons, RCC Dental Programs Director. “This accreditation affirms the quality of education RCC provides and allows us to meet the growing demand for skilled dental professionals.”
