Jackson County (Jan. 31, 2025) — Rogue Community College invites community members to receive free dental hygiene screenings the week of Feb. 10, 2025, at the dental hygiene clinic on the RCC Table Rock Campus in White City. This opportunity provides vital hands-on experience for students in the RCC Dental Hygiene Program while offering an important community service.
The screenings are performed by students under the supervision of licensed dental professionals, ensuring a safe and educational experience for everyone involved. These screenings are a crucial part of the students’ training, preparing them to excel in their future careers as dental hygienists.
“These screenings provide a dual benefit,” said Carmen Mons, director of RCC Dental Programs. “Our students gain valuable clinical experience in a real-world setting, and community members receive a no-cost service that can help improve their oral health. It’s a win-win for everyone, and we’re proud to make this resource available to Southern Oregon.”
The RCC Dental Hygiene Clinic is equipped with modern facilities to ensure patients receive high-quality care. Screenings may include an evaluation of oral health, preventive care recommendations and education on maintaining good oral hygiene practices. Participating in these screenings not only helps students develop their skills but also fosters a healthier community by making dental care more accessible.
Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling the RCC Dental Hygiene Clinic at 541-755-7577 or by emailing dentalinfo@roguecc.edu. Appointments are limited, so early scheduling is encouraged.
