Scholarship Committee Volunteers Needed

The Rogue Community College Foundation is preparing for our upcoming scholarship application cycle and is seeking volunteer reviewers. The role of an application reviewer is a small but impactful commitment. The review process begins shortly after our scholarship application closes on June 1, 2025.

As the saying goes, “Many hands make light work,” and reviewing an application takes only about 10 minutes. With enough volunteers, it should take a few hours per reviewer and does not have to be completed in one sitting. Last year, we had just over 400 applications. With three reviews per application, that is about 1,200 applications to review. We hope to have at least 30 reviewers. The process is completed online at any time that is convenient for you. Foundation staff will walk you through the simple process.

To give you an idea of the experience other reviewers have had, read some of the feedback we’ve received:

“It has been an honor to serve with the scholarship committee. As a scholarship reviewer, I have found it rewarding and exciting to be one of the judges who make a difference in a student’s education. Learning about each student’s journey, achievements and aspirations is inspiring.”

“I have been reviewing RCC Foundation scholarships for the last 10 years. Every year, I’m very proud to play a small part for so many applicants in the Rogue Valley who have often overcome insurmountable obstacles and are on their way to pursuing their dreams. I’m amazed at the diversity of RCC applicants that I see every year. Being an RCC Foundation scholarship reviewer has been one of my most rewarding and positive experiences since moving to the Rogue Valley and I highly recommend that you join us.”

Thank you for your support of Rogue Community College and the Foundation. Please reach out to Faina Hopkins on Teams or by phone at 541-956-7293 with any questions or to volunteer.
