Spring Week of Welcome: Volunteers Needed

Rogue Community College is preparing for an exciting Spring Week of Welcome (WoW) and employee participation is key. The WoW team is seeking support to greet students, share valuable college resources and foster a sense of belonging across campuses.

This is a great opportunity to join the Student Engagement Team, ASGRCC, Student Life and the Student Success Task Force in making a meaningful impact on student success. Each campus will have employees stationed at key locations to distribute campus maps and other essential materials to help students start the term smoothly. Some stations will be outdoors, so employees are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather.

Week at a Glance

  • Monday and Tuesday, March 31 and April 1: Staff will assist students with wayfinding and provide helpful resources.
  • Tuesday through Thursday, April 1–3: Counseling staff, ASGRCC and volunteers will host a community coloring activity, a mini coffee bar and engage in conversation with students.

Those interested in participating should first check with their supervisor regarding availability, then sign up for one or more time slots. Front-facing staff are encouraged to serve students in their offices, but all employees with time to spare are welcome to stop by and lend a hand.

If schedules allow, employees are encouraged to sign up for multiple shifts and wear RCC gear and name tags during events.

All are invited to encourage others to get involved. Even a quick stop to say hello during a break can make a difference. Let’s come together to make this spring term a success for RCC students.
