Summer of Soul Movie Screening

You might have heard of Woodstock, but did you know that same summer of 1969, New York City hosted the Harlem Cultural Festival? The huge musical celebration, sometimes referred to as Black Woodstock, featured some of the most talented Black musicians of the time, including Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone and Gladys Knight. The entire event was filmed and the footage was recently rediscovered and made into an award-winning documentary.

Come out of the cold and into the “Summer of Soul!” The RCC Diversity Programming Board is hosting a screening of this fun and impactful documentary about the historic Harlem Cultural Festival. Check out the movie trailer online.
