On Aug. 9, 2023, Ted Daw (a full-time faculty member in Diesel Technology since 2014) was a passenger in a motor vehicle accident. Since then, he has been in the hospital with critical injuries. Below is updated information shared by Ted’s family that we received permission to pass on to the college community:
“….it is with great sadness and heartbreak that we share with you this news.
Ted will be traveling back down from Portland via ambulance to our home in Eagle Point where he will spend his last moments of life, surrounded by the people he loves, and who love him deeply. During this time, our doors will be open to many family and friends traveling near and far to honor Ted with kindness, compassion, love, and I’m sure a few brassy stories thrown in the mix.
In the next short time, as our family goes through this undoubtedly hardest and most toughest adventure with Ted, please shower our family with grace, love and prayers.
We truly could not have done this without all of you. Your love, kindness, compassion and generosity has allowed our family to take the time needed to be with Ted and walk alongside through this journey.
As always we thank you for this outpouring of support…There are truly no words to express the way we feel for you, thank you.
♥️ Wendy, Madison, Paige and Olivia”
We learned in a more recent update that Ted was transferred to RRMC, and may or may not end up going home. For now, his loved ones are thrilled that he is back in the Rogue Valley, where he is surrounded by family and friends.
Please keep Ted’s wife, Wendy, their daughters Madison, Paige and Olivia, and the rest of those who love Ted in your thoughts. Cards expressing condolences can be sent to HR to forward to the family. HR can also provide resources and support, such as connecting individuals or teams with a grief counselor.
The family plans to hold public services to honor Ted’s life. We will share updates as soon as details are confirmed.
