Web Content Refresh: We’ve Started the Move from Internet to Intranet

We wanted to share a quick update on a project we teased about in the last couple of Rogue Reports and then kicked off last week: reviewing and reorganizing pages on the RCC website to make sure the right information is in the right place—for the right audience.

As you may remember, we’re working to move internal-facing content off the public website and onto platforms better suited for college staff, like the intranet, myRogue and other resources. This helps us keep the RCC website focused, student-friendly and compliant, while also ensuring our internal resources stay secure and easier to manage.

First Up: Marketing & Communications

To get the ball rolling, we started with the Marketing & Communications Department pages. We’ve completed a full review and moved all faculty and staff-specific information to the intranet. If you’re looking for those internal resources for Marketing & Communications, you’ll now find them on the intranet—right where they belong. This includes links to DIY Marketing Materials (with NEW branded PowerPoint templates!), the Graphic Identity & Style Guide, the Marketing Work Order system, forms for submitting Rogue Report articles and events, and more.

Why This Matters

Keeping our website clear, accurate and streamlined helps:

  • Make it easier for students and community members to find what they need.
  • Ensure we’re meeting legal and accessibility requirements.
  • Reduce confusion about which info is for the public vs. internal audiences.
  • Protect internal processes and resources by housing them securely.

This project is about more than just a digital cleanup—it’s about helping our website better serve everyone who uses it, inside and outside of RCC.

What’s Next?

Marketing and Communications staff will be reaching out to other departments soon to begin the same review process for pages we have identified as possibly being able to migrate from the Internet to another platform. If some of your department’s pages are up for review, we’ll send you a list of those web pages and a short form to help classify each one. Don’t worry—it’s straightforward and we’re here to help every step of the way.

Thanks so much for your support and partnership as we continue this work!
