Tony Cremo has joined the RCC Science department as a full-time faculty member. Originally from Chico, California, Tony moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to attend the University of Alabama, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with honors and a Master of Science in biology, focusing on genetics, microbiology and molecular development.
Tony began his teaching career at the University of Alabama, where he taught honors biology and microbiology labs. He has been an adjunct faculty member at RCC since spring term 2023, teaching courses including BI112, BI211, BI213L and BI234. He also has a background in formal research and lab services, having worked in FDA and ISO-accredited labs, including Herb Pharm in Williams and the UC Davis Veterinary Genetics Lab. His research interests center on the molecular regulation of homeotic transcription factor genes and transgenic expression studies.
Outside of work, Tony enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family, hiking, listening to music, eating ice cream and buying and selling vintage items. He looks forward to being part of the RCC community and “a bright future together.”
